The Futurist to Launch 24/7 Technology Intelligence Channel on HP TV+

Independent documentary brand to bring The Futurist series, executive interviews from the world's leading industry events and daily technology briefings to HP TV+.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada — OCTOBER 27, 2026

The Futurist, the independent technology documentary brand hosted and executive produced by futurist Ian Khan, today announced that HP TV+, HP's free streaming service for Windows 11 PCs, has confirmed carriage of The Futurist's 24/7 free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channel. The channel will be delivered in partnership with Amagi, the cloud playout platform used by broadcasters and streaming services worldwide.

The channel is built for the executives, operators, clinicians, engineers and investors who make decisions about emerging technology before the rest of the market catches up: an always-on channel, in the mould of a business news network, programmed around how AI, robotics, automation, energy and digital transformation are reshaping industries.

The Futurist Channel: What It Is

The Futurist channel is a 24-hour linear television channel dedicated to the future of industry, programmed from one of the largest independent libraries of technology leadership content in the world: The Futurist documentary series, more than 500 leader interviews recorded every year, and on-the-floor coverage from major industry events across 60+ countries. Its positioning is simple: the Bloomberg of technology leadership.

The channel is independent and distribution-led. It is produced by The Futurist Global and carried by the platforms where its audience already spends time, the same model that has taken The Futurist series to Amazon Prime Video, Roku, Tubi and more than 45 OTT platforms in 25+ countries. The channel also streams on the web at thefuturist.tv.

HP TV+: What It Is

HP TV+ is HP's free, ad-supported streaming service, launched in 2026 and built for Windows 11 HP consumer PCs. It is distributed through the Microsoft Store and included or promoted on new HP laptops and desktops, and it combines live channels with on-demand programming from partners including PBS.

The service marks HP's entry into free ad-supported television (FAST), the same model that powers Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, Pluto TV and Tubi, but with one difference that matters to The Futurist: HP TV+ lives on the PC, not the living-room television. HP has positioned the service around laptop-based viewing, the screen professionals already have open during the working day.

The Reach: Who Can Watch

HP TV+ sits on one of the largest device footprints in computing. HP is the world's second-largest PC maker, shipping roughly 57 million PCs in 2025, about one in five PCs sold worldwide. HP TV+ is preinstalled or promoted on new HP consumer PCs and available to any Windows 11 user through the Microsoft Store.

HP's own media network claims a reach of 830 million monthly users across more than 100 million devices worldwide, including 160 million monthly users in the United States, with about 2 million new devices added every month. HP also reports that 43% of laptop users already stream video on their machines.

Why HP TV+

HP TV+ was chosen as the launch platform because it puts The Futurist on the one screen its audience never turns off: the work computer.

1. Right screen. The Futurist's viewers are professionals who watch at a desk, on a laptop, between meetings. HP TV+ reaches them during the business day, when the content is most actionable. 2. Right audience. A PC platform skews toward people who work, research and buy for organizations, a closer match than a mass-entertainment platform where business content competes with movies. 3. Early position on a new platform. HP TV+ launched in 2026 and is still building its lineup. Joining early gives The Futurist a prominent position in a small guide and a seat at the table as HP grows the service. 4. Distribution-led. The Futurist grows by being wherever its audience already is. HP TV+ adds the PC to a footprint that already covers Amazon Prime Video, Roku, Tubi and 45+ OTT platforms.

How, Where and When to Watch

The Futurist channel is expected to go live on HP TV+ by the end of 2026, free, with no subscription or sign-up required.
